The force is a series of waterfalls with the largest single drop being about 5 feet. The force widens as it drops down, being only a couple of feet wide at the top and about 15 feet wide at the bottom. A bench near the falls allows visitors to rest and enjoy the delightful scenery.

From the village of Hawes take the main road - the A684 - towards Sedbergh. After crossing the River Ure on a narrow bridge you will shortly find a lay-by on the right. A path leads from here to the waterfall.
